The first part of class was spent writing a quiz ( review work from grade 7 -- conjugating the verbs FAIRE and JOUER in the PRESENT tense).
Many students indicated that they haven't been writing due dates in agendas, forget agendas in lockers or forget to check them to keep on top of Quiz dates and due dates. Many indicated that they do not check the website , either. I've explained that MUCH of their success in school comes from being prepared, organized and responsible and the rest, comes from hard work. Where possible ( parents) please check in with your child whenever possible about due dates and significant dates in school.
Students were given a new seating arrangement in class today.
For some who have been absent, I explained ( in a nutshell) the FORTUNE TELLER PROJECT that students are currently working on. The outline,rubric, rough copy/planning sheet and tutorials are found attached to previous blogposts.
Next class, students will start to construct their Fortune Tellers. We will then put them aside for a while as I teach them LE FUTUR PROCHE ( which is a verb tense they will need to write fortunes inside their Fortune Tellers).
Those who did not finish homework due for today must have it done for next class. ( 8 interrogatif sentences using faire and jouer to ask questions about sports, activities and hobbies)
Those who had this finished will have a check next to their name on PowerSchool. those who have not completed it or who are/were absent will have a n "L" for late indicated in red. If students were missing, there is a "M" indicated in yellow.
