A) In the last week, students continued learning about Physical Activity and about Daily requirements of Physical Activity required to maintain good health.
Students learned about Three types of activities: Endurance, Stretching/Flexibility and Strength ( Endurance, Assouplissement et Musculation). We also looked at light, moderate and intense physical activities as ways of categorizing activities and the amount of time required for each of these physical activities.
Students worked on making PSAs (Public Service Announcements) in the form of visual posters and they have been hung around the school to serve as reminders to our school community of the importance of Physical Activity in maintaining good health. Posters addressed The Types of ACtivities and Time required daily for light, moderate or intense exercise.
B) Today, we started to look at the importance of sleep. Below, please find a PowerPoint used in class today. Students were asked to write down the first two terms and definitions and we proceeded to learn about and discuss the importance of sleep, how sleep relates to our overall health, risks inherent in not getting enough sleep, etc.
