Today was Library Day.
The Reading Strategy today was Word Solve: Find the meaning of a word you do not understand.
Write the word and the meaning ( as found in a dictionary).
Explain how understanding the meaning of this new vocabulary word affects your understanding of what you read.
HANDS - These Hands Are Small I Know - Exploring "Sense Data" Through Other Ways of Representing.
Below, you will find attached the rubric and some guiding information for how you may choose to create your Visual Representation Piece. You may use a variety of mediums from technology, collage, paint, pastel, crayon, marker, pen and ink, photography and combine these. The instructions for how to incorporate YOUR OWN hand and the associated symbolism(meaning) can be found on the PowerPoint from yesterday.
I encourage you to explore your creative side and remember that you are not confined to a small piece of white paper. Should you choose a Bristol board, plywood, canvas, box, model, globe or other 3d model on which to showcase your images, you may certainly do so, as long as you leave no blank space and include a variety of images that are hand-drawn, some words, and your choice of personal photographs, borrowed images( Internet, cut outs from old magazines and publications, etc.)
