A) We continued looking at Canadian Identity and how landscape, climate, history, people, citizenship, opportunities, collevtive past, etc help to form our identity as Canadians.
B) A class discussion was held with great participation from students pertaining to slides 1 thru 5 of the Unit 1 PowerPoint as attached, below.
C) Assigned Yesterday and due tomorrow: Students were asked to choose 2 of the 3 categories on the outline, do some research and compose a list of 4 or 5 artists, musicians or authors that represent ( very well) Canadian Identity.
Each student will have different choices to present and therefore, must receive approval from me for their choices.
i) Finish looking at what factors help to form our identity as Canadians (PowerPoint)
ii) Story/Video - Peace by Chocolat ( in relation to how Opportunites might factor in to form our Identity as Canadians) (scroll down through the blog to find attached story and video)
iii) Song study - The Canadian Railroad Trilogy by Gordon Lightfoot (scroll down through the blog to find the attached lyrics, youtube video of the song being performed and worksheets for this activity)
Due - jeudi 28 septembre ---> Choose 2 of the following 3 ( artis, musican, author)
